Is liposuction painful?
In the areas treated sometimes aching muscle pain might occur. After the operation a few days of rest and relaxation are recommended.
How long do the results of the liposuction last?
If you eat a healthy diet even before the liposuction, exercise and avoid significant weight gain after the operation, the reshaped body silhouette should be permanent. This is one of the major reasons, liposuction has become very popular.
What do I have to adhere to after the “liposuction”?
We recommend the wearing of a compression garment for 6 weeks. Furthermore, you should avoid frequent sitting after the first postoperative days, either rest or walk. Smoking should be avoided or least much reduced. Sporty activities which require measured fluid movement like biking, walking or fitness training can be taken up again shortly after liposuction; shaking motions like tennis, jogging etc. should be avoided 4 – 6 weeks postoperative.
How much body weight can I lose with liposuction?
Liposuction is not a way to reduce excess body weight. You should eat a balanced diet, exercise and still carry mostly inherited fatty tissue which does not effectively disappear when using the aforementioned behavioral methods. Liposuction is not an inexpensive way to reduce excess weight but a procedure to remodel the body silhouette. Weight loss on a scale is therefore not the objective of liposuction.
Can I have to return home after the liposuction procedure?
After smaller surgical procedures it is theoretically possible to return home. However, as a safety precaution, we insist on at least one overnight stay at the hospital in order to intervene in case of possible acute pain or cardiovascular problems. The stationary overnight stay contributes to smooth post-surgical recovery..
How often do you perform liposuction?
At our clinic, we perform this procedure on a daily basis. However, more procedures are performed during the dark cold season rather than during the spring and summer months. This is mainly due to patients preferring to wear the compression garment for 6 weeks during the cooler season.
I would like to undergo liposuction but are afraid of complications
One can meet this anxiety only with serious and precise surgical planning as well as pre- and postoperative follow-up. Two weeks prior to surgery a pre-op examination is conducted which includes necessary blood tests to determine important blood counts. Should the per-sonal information provided show pre-existing conditions and their possible implications, it might delay or prohibit the liposuction. The procedure itself is being performed in state-of-the-art operating rooms including post-operative monitoring for one night as well as timely check-ups; this allows for optimal recovery.
Should you have additional questions, we will be glad to answer them. The first personal and individual consultation and preliminary examination is without obligation and free of charge.
